Why Jatun Mayo Experience was born
Jatun Mayo Experience was born because we saw the same thing again and again: people traveling to “rest”… and coming back more tired. Too much itinerary, not enough air. Too many photos, not enough presence. And Atacama — when experienced calmly — is not just a destination: it is a reset.
What we do differently
We were not born selling tours. We were born guiding days. Over time, we understood that what transforms you most is not “doing more,” but doing it at your own pace: entering slowly, acclimatizing well, choosing moments with intention, and leaving space for the desert to do its work.

Who we are — and why it matters
We are Toni and Máximo. We were born in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, and arrived in Chile looking for a better future, with purpose, vision, and the decision to move forward.
In San Pedro de Atacama, we became professional drivers. For a long time, we traveled this region every day, working for other agencies, interacting with travelers, and learning what does not appear in brochures: real timing, weather, altitude, routes, and safety.
From that experience, Jatun Mayo Experience was born: a more human, carefully designed way of traveling, far from mass tourism. We design signature trips with precise logistics and a pace that allows you to connect with the landscape, the silence, and yourself.
We were born hungry for movement: roads, sport, challenge, and real landscapes. Over time, we understood something simple: the unforgettable is not about “seeing more,” but about feeling better.
